1. University Grants Commission

The University Grants Commission is a statutory organization established under the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of higher education. Apart from providing grants to Universities and Colleges, the Commission also advises the Central Government on the measures which are necessary for the development of higher education.
