To\nSecretary,\nDepartment of Higher Education,\nMHRD Delhi.\n\nSubject: Information under RTI Act 2005 regarding not considering the degree awarded by IIT Roorkee.\n\nRespected Sir,\n Reference to above subject, I state that I have done M.Sc.( Industrial Mathematics & Informatics) from Department of Mathematics, IIT Roorkee in 2007. IIT Roorkee has given us Equivalency Certificate mentioning that Two year course M.Sc.( Industrial Mathematics & Informatics) offered by IIT Roorkee is equivalent to two year course M.A./M.Sc. ( Mathematics) offered by other institutions/ universities in India.But My Degree has not been considered for the post of Assistant Professor and Post Graduate Teacher ( Mathematics) in Haryana. I want to ask some information under RTI act:\n1. Whether the degrees or certificates awarded by IITs are valid in India and all institutes are bound to consider these in India or not.\n2. Whether any University or Employer in India can deny to consider the degree and equivalency certificate given by IIT or not. \nI am totally frustrated on not considering my degree.
