Sir, My minor son Adarsh is OCI(Overseas citizen of India) card holder. He was born in The USA when I was working there. So he has a US passport. We returned to India in 2003 and he has done all his schooling in India. As per the citizenship act, OCI card holders will be treated on par with NRIs in the educational field. My son intends to write the IIT JEE (main)examination for admission to the various NIT/IIIT/IIT . But in the information of JEE main brochure, it is stated that OCI candidates cannot use the JEE(main) channel for admission to these institutes. Therefore, I request you to clarify by way of an official communication as to (1) whether is there any bar for admission of Overseas Citizens of India OCI Card holders to NITs, CFTIs through JEE (Main) Channel.(2) Is there any bar for admission of Non Residents Indians (NRI) to NITs, CFTIs through JEE (Main) Channel. Thanks Jayashree
