568 DOHED/R/2018/80587 nil GATE is conducted for admission to m.tech,PhD and for other higher education. PSUs also shortlist candidates based on GATE score. But due to mismatch in the schedules of IITs, NITs and PSUs, alot of mtech seats remain vacant. Mtech admissions are over by the end of july but PSUs declare their results after july. Students take admissions in IITs as a backup plan because the do not know whether they will be selected in PSUs or not. Before the results of PSUs are declared, students already have already taken admission in IITs and spent around one month. After the results of PSUs are declared, they leave their mtech courses and join psu. This leads to a wastage of large numbers of seats which could have been given to other deserving candidates. There is a huge mismatch in between mtech admission and PSUs.\nI want to know the following information-\n\n1 What steps are being taken to reduce the wastage of mtech seats in IITs\n2 Steps taken so that psu may finish all their selection process before the admission of mtech. \n3 is there any financial loss that occurs due to students leaving their courses midway 27/05/2018 nil Reply Attached View nil nil nil View nil View
