Under my right to information, I hereby seek information regarding the license fees collected by PPL society under the copyright act. 1. Is PPL allowed to collect license fees for social events which do not include have any commercial purpose nor does it involve any sale of tickets such as weddings, sangeet functions, mehndi, etc irrespective of the venue they are held at, whether its a hotel premise or a private farm house or a marriage hall. 2. In case of commercial events, what is the right of PPL and what is their fees structure. What all songs and song writers come under their jurisdiction.
