The department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) took a decision of transferring the unused departmental funds meant for providing financial assistance to the students for national conferences to those students who need financial assistance for presenting papers in International conferences. Since most of those funds remain unused, it may provide some financial assistance to the students going for international conferences. This proposal was rejected by the IIT Guwahati administration.
