Dear MHRDs concerned office/department Greetings. My query is regarding the Expert committee under Prof. S.K. Joshi constituted on 5.11.2003 and and gave its report on 17.2.2005 regarding the up gradation of selected 7 institutes to IIT level. Is there any final decision taken by present Gov on report and recommendations of the said committee or are these recommendations even under consideration of the MHRD. When we can expect any outcome. Moreover, has any meeting been called of seven short listed institutions by Gov of India to discuss in detail the treatment that can be extended to them in case they can not be upgraded to IIT. This decision to convene a meeting of shortlisted 7 institution was decided in the meeting of Standing Committee of the Council of IITs, held under the chairmanship of Prof. C.N.R. Rao on 5th March, 2005 In particular, what support and infrastructural help has been provided to Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET) of Aligarh Muslim University by Government of India for its development / up gradation in light of this report of SK Joshi Committee. Kindly advise.
