I am doing PhD from IIT Roorkee in Civil Engineering department. I passed Gate exam in 2007 and completed M.Tech in 2009. I am getting fellowship through MHRD, I want following information pertaining to latest notification of MHRD for fellowship hike of PhD program vide F.N0.17-2/2014-TS.I, Dated 18th Feb 2015 1. Why MHRD announced hike of only 40% when for same category of JRF/SRF DST and other agencies have announced hike of minimum 55%. Dst Notification SR/S9/Z-09/2012 2. Why the date of effect of fellowship hike is 1st Feb 2015 when DST and others have announced hike from 1st Oct 2014 3. Who much fellowship will I get in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year of PhD. after the above said notification of MHRD for revision of fellowship 4. Net qualified JRF/SRf doing PhD in sciences get fellowship upto 5years. Why MHRD do not give the fellowship for engineering stream upto 5 years 5. To do PhD in sciences, one have to study only 5 years after Senior Secondary i.e. Bachelors for 3years masters for 2 yeras, while engineering student have to devote 6years after Sr Secondary to do PhD. Shouldnt the fact that Engineering student have to study one more year to be on the same level of JRF/SRF of sciences, be considered in revising the MHRD PhD fellowship hike or engineering streams. Shouldnt Engineering streams be given more than 55% Hike in MHRD fellowship 6. The notification of MHRD for revision of fellowship F.N0.25-2/2010-TS.II, Dated 30th Sep 2010 clearly distinguished the revised fellowship amount of fellowship for qualifying degree of Non-PG degree holders in professional courses and PG degree holders in professional courses. The slabs were 16000-18000 and 18000-20000 respectively. Why the its not distinguished in current MHRD notification of fellowship revision. 7. The notification of MHRD for revision of fellowship F.N0.25-2/2010-TS.II, Dated 30th Sep 2010 revised the fellowships from 1st April 2010. i.e. start of financial year. Why current revision of fellowship is not effective from financial year 2014-15 i.e. from 1st April 2014. 8. Provide me the information of the steps undertaken in MHRD covering each of the above queries.
