To
Public Information Officer,
President Secretariat,
Rashtrapati Bhavan,
New Delhi - 110004
This is in regards to case of discrimination and harassment of Dr Subrahmanyam Saderla at Aerospace Engineering Department, IIT Kanpur by his fellow colleagues.
1. Based on reply from MHRD, dated 9th May 2018, numbered PRSEC/R/2018/50342, appointment of Prof. Rajiv Shekhar was made on 26th March 2018. The reply stated that no information was available on his involvement in SC harassment case. Is this reply truthful.
2. The reply from IIT Kanpur on another RTI, numbered PIO/95-2018-19/IITK/441, dated 5 July 2018, suggests that Secretary, MHRD was informed about the involvement of Prof. Shekhar in SC harassment on 8th March 2018. With this reply, has MHRD ignored such important information and appointed Prof. Shekhar as Director, ISM Dhanbad.
3. Since MHRD secretary was notified of the involvement of Prof. Shekhar in SC harassment case, has it informed the honorable President of India, who is the visitor of both IIT Kanpur and ISM Dhanbad.
4. Who all were instrumental in influencing the decision of MHRD to ignore the information from IIT Kanpur and continue with the appointment of Prof. Shekhar.
Kindly expedite on this matter since this relates to a very serious matter of discrimination at a premier institute at a time when entire nation is working towards eradicating casteism at all levels.
Related RTI response documents are attached.
Thanks. |

Dear Sir, there is a gross injustice being done, by the JNU administration in the declaration of various results of the JNU entrance examination through National Testing Agency for admission to various courses, as the they have not displayed any marks wise merit list of the candidates appeared in their respective courses, and their candidates A/C simply mentions NOT SELECTED as a remark, which totally lack transparency in the result declared. I wanted to bring this to the notice of the Ministry of Higher Education, so that justice can be done with all the students appeared in the examination by providing them subject wise merit list of the all the candidates appeared and directing the JNU administration to display the Marks wise merit list of all the candidates appeared in the JNU Entrance Examination through NTA, on their official website and make intimation to all candidates through SMS about the said display. I have attached herewith my result of the JNU-NTA for PhD course as a supporting document for your perusal. |

Through this Appeal I pray to direct the JNU Administration to declare the marks wise merit list of all the candidates, including the PhD entrance candidates, appeared in the JNU entrance exam 2019, in order to ensure that there is no corruption in the selection of genuine candidates in the entrance examination. I made representation to the JNU VC and Administration, but no such declaration has been made. I have attached herewith the supporting document containing the Reply document (F.No.A-33- 1 / 20 19-TS-l (July)), the RTI (DOHED/R/2019/51563), the current status of the concerned RTI, and the representation made by me to the JNU administration seeking the requisite remedy, for your kind perusal. |
