Dear Sir/Madam,\n\nThe following questions relate to the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) drive education and educational institutes in the country have received in the past decade. \n\nSpecifically, there is emphasis on incorporating ICT in education, as evidenced by the National Policy on Information and Communication Technology in School Education of 2012. This policy is also reflected in the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan.\n\nThe information, asked in the form of the following questions, is being sought under Section 3 read with Section 4 of the Right to Information Act, 2005. \n\nIn case the following information is available with another public information officer (PIO), kindly forward this application to that PIO.\n\n1. Is the IT platform developed for Swayam based on free and open-source software.\n2. How many government and local body schools have been covered under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan scheme as of 31 October 2018.\n3. How many schools have been given ICT support under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan as of 31 October 2018.\n4. How many suitably qualified full time computer teachers have been appointed for the number of schools covered under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan as mentioned in question 2.
