We are the Ph.D. students from Humanities Department and Management Department of all Indian Institute of Technology and National Institute of Technology. Our institutes has implemented the revised rates of Ph. D. Scholarship vide the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) letter No. F. No. 17-2/2014-TS-1, dated 18-2-2015 and. F. No. 17-2/2014-TS-1, dated 2-3-2015. The revised rates of Ph.D. scholarships are applicable to all departments except Management and Humanities and Social Science departments. It is not evident from both the MHRD letters whether students pursuing Ph.D. after completing MBA/MA/M.Com are eligible for this hike in scholarship rates or not. Until now, we used to get the rate of scholarship (i.e. Rs. 16,000/- for 1st and 2nd year and Rs 18,000/- up to 5th year) equivalent with MSc. degree students pursuing Ph.D at our institute. So kindly clarify whether Ph.D. students of Management, Humanities and Social Science are eligible for getting this hike in scholarship rates or not.
