30 DOHED/R/T/20/00086 nil Dear Sir, I, Sumer Singh, S/O- Late Sh Sushil Prasad Singh, want to state that IITs have started offering Bachelors of Design Programme. There is an exam called as UCEED established for selection to these B.Des programmes in IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIITDM Jabalpur. IIT Delhi is to start a B.Des programme, can IIT Delhi consider admission to its B.Des programme considering two examination system where the same student has to qualify both UCEED and JEE. Both the exams are of national level and independent of each other with different syllabuses. There has been a debate in this topic from past one year and many professors in IIT think that two exams can be used for selection, where the same student has to qualify both. Hence, I need the information from the concerned authorities regarding the following: Kindly issue me whether the above-stated approach of forcing the same student to qualify two different exams at the national level, independent of each other, with different syllabuses is legally correct. If the information is not relevant to your department as per section 6(3) of the RTI Act 2005, kindly transfer it to the concerned department. Kindly provide me the detail under, RTI act 2005. As per section 6(3) of the RTI Act 2005, In case, the requested information is held by another public authority, I request the PIO to transfer the application or part of it within FIVE days and immediately inform me about such transfer.
