In response the CPIO responded:-
In this regard, it is informed that a same RTI application no. DOHED/R/2017/52180 dated 22/06/2017 has been replied vide letter no. 16/4/2017 dated 24.07.2017, a copy of the same is enclosed herewith for your ready reference. No further responses have been received by Ministry of HRD.
In the RTI Response cited in above by the CPIO, it was mentioned that only IIM Kozhikode and IIM Trichurapalli have sent responses to the letter. But atleast two other IIMs (IIM Indore and IIM Lucknow) in separate RTIs have claimed that they have also sent responses to MHRD (see annexures). Hence, it appears that the CPIO has provided misleading/incomplete information.
I appeal to you to provide the information requested in the above RTI with accuracy. |

1. Please provide the certified copy of the rules mentioning for which criteria of candidates, GATE/NET/INSPIRE qualifications are mandatory for getting admission under Full-Time PhD Research Fellows at the NITs & IITs.
2. Please provide the certified copy of the rules mentioning the eligibility criteria for candidates from Science Branches even if they have an Masters Degree(Msc) for getting admission under Full-Time PhD Research Fellows at the NITs & IITs.
3. Please provide the certified copy of the rules mentioning the eligibility criteria for candidates having Masters degree in the relevant branch of Engineering/ Technology for getting admission under Full-Time PhD Research Fellows at the NITs & IITs.
4. Please provide the certified copy of the rules mentioning the eligibility criteria for candidates having B. Tech. degree from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) for getting admission under Full-Time PhD Research Fellows at the NITs & IITs.
5. Please provide the certified copy of the rules mentioning the eligibility criteria for candidates having Bachelors degree in engineering or technology from any other Institute for getting admission under Full-Time PhD Research Fellows at the NITs & IITs.
