1704 DOHED/R/2016/53931 nil (A) I wanted to apply for RTI regarding my college Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad. But while filling this form I noticed that IIT Hyderabad is not mentioned in the drop-down menu of - Select Public Authority. Colleges like IIT Bombay, IIM Ahemdabad and IIT Jodhpur are mentioned along with other prestigious colleges like IITs, IIMs and NITs. On the website of IIT Hyderabad it is mentioned:\nThe Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad is an autonomous statutory organization functioning within the Institute of Technology Act. The fifteen IITs (others being at Hyderabad, Kharagpur, Kanpur, New Delhi, Mumbai, Guwahati, Roorkee, Gandhinagar, Bhubaneswar, Ropar, Patna, Jodhpur, Indore and Mandi) are administered centrally by the IITs Council, an apex body established by the Government of India. The Minister of Human Resource & Development, Government of India, is the Chairman of the Council.\n\nThis means that IIT Hyderabad comes under HRD Ministry. I want to know why IIT Hyderabad option is not available here under - Select Public Authority.\n\n(B) Now coming to my main motive. If a student wants to apply for a competitive exam or a college for higher education he has to submit a document called transcript. This document contains our basic information along with the courses completed and grades obtained in them. We have to pay an amount of Rs. 200/- for this transcript. If a student is applying at multiple places and needs to submit the transcript multiple times, he needs to pay the amount equivalent number of times. Transcript of all students is already saved in the academic database of institute. They just have to take the print out on a normal sheet of paper and sign it. I believe that these type of expenses are already covered in the fees. I want to know why we have to pay an amount of Rs. 200/- every time we need a transcript. 28/09/2016 nil Reply attached.
