He is currently in 12th class and is preparing to get admission into IIT (Indian Institutes of Technology). We have been living in India and paying taxes in India. Admission policy of IITs says: Seats allotted to foreign nationals are supernumerary. However, not all Institutes may have supernumerary seats. The availability of supernumerary seats will be announced at the time of seat allocation. This means foreigners and OCIs will be allotted supernumerary seats as per availability, but not allotted seats as mainstream candidates. As per OCI act in 2005 (moia.gov.in/writereaddata/pdf/2005_oci.pdf), OCIs should be treated on par with NRIs in the field of education. But the policy of IITs for admissions seems to conflict with the OCI act. Can you please help us in correcting this and OCIs be treated as regular candidates and be allotted seats in with mainstream quota. thank you 19/02/2015 nil Reply attached. An NRI 12th grade student from middle east in ICSE 12th grade can attend JEE Main and JEE advanced and get an admission to an IIT /NIT . He can also write the AIPMT and get an admission in the 15% allocated national seats in the medical colleges . Can an OCI studying for 12th grade in India and resident in India for the past 7 years do the same . 2. If not why is that so 3. But I had a few other questions along with that which still needs to be answered . Question 1 was also about AIPMT Question 3 was What do you mean by general parity with NRI in education . I really need an answer to this so I know where a child stands . I think it is unreasonable to expect one exam board to know the definition of general parity in education. I am assuming it is not open to interpretation by various boards but there is a definition at a higher level. Please can I know what is the general parity with NRI in education. I have checked from all the sources available to me that the answer to that question is 13.33. But the answer given in the answer key is 3.33. So, i think that maybe 13.33 is mistakenly taken as 3.33. So, i request you to kindly check it and send me a solution copy of the concerned question in support of your response. In Uttar Pradesh my caste is come in OBC category, my caste/community is JAT (UTTAR PRADESH) which comes in central OBC list according to resolution no. 2012/129/2009 BC-II but today(17/03/2015) decision of supreme court not in favour of reservation ,supreme court cancel the jat reservation in central government job. 2.My question is if any person selected in central government job during the period of 04/03/2014( date of publication of resolution which include the jat in central OBC list) to 17/03/2015(date of cancellation),it has central government OBC certificate ,than there is any condition of termination from job .which are selected in OBC quota. 3.During above duration jat of up consider in central OBC list or not. 4. As the jat obc notification dated 4th March 2014 has been quashed by Supreme Court on 17th March 2015 On its hearing on 9th April 2014 , interim prayer for stay was rejected by the Supreme Court ,however any action taken pursuant to the impunged notification subject to outcome of writ petitions was written . Hence obc quota was granted by government from 4th March onwards and all central universities , upsc consider jat as obc. Because there was no stay on it. What about the candidates who have got admission last year under the quota and recruit in central government institute like IITS and NITS ,result declared and published availing quota.
