Provide the copy of the Order from the MHRD by which he is still continuing his job as Director, IISER Pune. 2. Prof. N. Sathyamurthy has attained the age of 65 and retired from IIT Kanpur. Still he is the Director of IISER Mohali. Is there any fresh order by which the MHRD has extended his tenure as Director. If so, provide the copy of the order. 3. Prof. R. N. Mukherjee is completing his term as Director, IISER Kolkata on 31st January 2017. The MHRD has already directed the BoG of IISER Kolkata to bring a proposal for Statute Amendment (F. No. 35-10/2016- TS.VII (Pt) dated 20. 12. 2016 and F. No. 35-10/2016- TS.VII (Pt) dated 23. 12. 2016). The clause, as directed by MHRD says, In the event of a vacancy arising in the post of a Director of an IISER on account of completion of his/her tenure, resignation or death, the Central Government with approval of the Visitor may either extend the term of the incumbent Director, if he is so willing, or entrust the charge of the post of the Director to the senior most willing Professor, clear from Vigilance angle, for a period not exceeding six months at a time or till the appointment of the regular Director or till further orders, whichever is the earliest. 1527 DOHED/R/2017/50295/1 nil Dear Authority, I am here with writing to enquire about the tenure of fellowship for the PhD students joined after their M.Tech/M.Pharm in MHRD sponsored Institutes (IITs and IISERs). According to last year revision of fellowships for PhDs by MHRD (F.NO.l7-2/2014-TS.I), the tenure of fellowship for PhDs is 5 years (25000 for Two years for JRF & 28000 for Three years for SRF) irrespective of their Masters Degree (M.Sc or M.Tech). But MHRD has released some more clarifications to the Institutes clarifying that the duration of fellowship for PhDs is for 5years irrespective of their Masters degree and mentioned that the revision will be effective from 01-10-2014 (F.No. 17-2/2014-T.S.-1). Although I (Joined PhD in January, 2013) am getting the revised fellowship amount according to that the Orders issued by MHRD (from 01-10-2014), my Institute is not clear about the duration of fellowship for PhD students joined through M.Tech even after clear orders from MHRD (Proofs attached). Does the orders about the revised fellowship amount and duration (according to the attached orders) applicable to only the students joined after the 01-10-2014. As I am getting the revised amount after 01-10-2014, I suppose the duration of fellowship should be for 5 years according to the MHRD latest orders. So, I am requesting the respective authority to clear all the doubts about the PhD fellowship amount and duration according to the MHRD norms & Is is applicable to the ones joined earlier to that memo release date and currently pursuing PhD.
